SPANISH COURSES
Eight levels of Spanish are offered in Intensive, Semi-Intensive, and Semester courses, each level consisting of 75 hours of instruction. Courses include instruction in grammar, reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Classes are taught in Spanish from day one. Tutoring sessions are available. Semester and Intensive courses are
equivalent to 5 semester credit hours. Students completing Spanish VIII with a minimum grade of B (85) will receive a certificate issued by UNAM.

SEMESTER COURSES
CLASSES: May 21 – July 31
SCHEDULE:
Monday, Wednesday & Thursday,
6:00 – 8:30 p.m.
TUITION: $450.00 (plus $30.00 registration fee)
for 75 hours of instruction.

INTENSIVE COURSES
CLASSES: SESSION I: May 21-July 3
SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday, 9:00 – 11:30 a.m.
TUITION: $450.00 (plus $30.00 registration fee) for 75 hours of instruction.

CONVERSATION (BEGINNERS, INTERMEDIATE AND ADVANCED)
CLASSES: SESSION I: May 21 - June 25
SCHEDULE: Monday & Wednesday, 12:00 – 1:30 p.m. or 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.
SESSION II: July 7-30
SCHEDULE: Monday & Wednesday, 12:00 – 1:50 p.m. or 6:00 – 7:50 p.m.
TUITION: $108.00 each session (plus $30.00 registration fee) for 15 hours of instruction.
Students already attending the Spanish courses pay only $80.00 but have no right to a
refund if they drop the course.

CONVERSATION FOR TEENAGERS (SESSION II)
This course is designed for high school students interested in improving their oral proficiency
and listening skills in Spanish. The teaching of the language will be conducted in a relaxed and
fun environment with conversational material interesting to teenagers. Cultural exchange
activities will be organized with native speakers.

CLASSES: July 7-18
SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. (30 minute lunch break)
TUITION: $240.00 (plus $30.00 registration fee) for 40 hours of instruction.

CUSTOMIZED COURSES
Customized courses may be designed to satisfy the specific needs or interests of businesses, educational institutions or other organizations. They may be taught on site or at UNAM’s campus.

SPANISH PROFICIENCY EXAMINATION
Certification of Spanish Proficiency for non-native speakers by means of an exam that evaluates the applicant’s degree of competence in listening and reading comprehension, grammar, writing and oral expression.

SPANISH ORAL PROFICIENCY EXAM
UNAM-San Antonio has developed a Spanish oral proficiency exam that allows public and private organizations to verify the Spanish oral skills of their employees.
